The builder — free on Free and Pro alike — can use your own AI provider API key (BYOK). AI usage is billed directly to your provider account based on your usage — Kepha Labs does not proxy or mark up these costs. Or run the command-building AI on free local AI on your own PC, and there are no AI-call costs at all.
Yes. Zeric supports free local AI that runs the command-building model right on your own PC — no API key, nothing leaves your machine, and no usage limits. Setup is one click inside the app: go to Settings → [Diagnose my PC], get a model recommended for your hardware, and hit [Get model] to download it (you only need to install Ollama, the local AI runtime). On the default local model, Korean command recognition is about 90.8% accurate (on our own 87-item golden set); with an NVIDIA GPU a request takes on the order of ten seconds, and it still runs on CPU without a GPU (slower, same accuracy). Cloud AI (BYOK) remains available too.
If you subscribed, Polar (our Merchant of Record) renews your plan automatically — $12/month or $120/year. You can cancel anytime — you won't be billed for the next cycle, and you keep access for the rest of the paid period. A 30-day free trial started by email (no card) ends with no charge and drops you back to Free. Yes. .rcmd files can be passed to any Zeric user (Free or Pro) and run as-is. Or publish to the marketplace so teammates can find it (publishing requires Pro) — handy for in-house standardization.
