Claric Energy Terms of Use

1. Licence

KephaLabs grants you a free, worldwide, non-exclusive, revocable licence to install and use Claric Energy, including in commercial projects, on as many computers as you like. There is no fee, no account, no seat count, and no expiry.

You may not resell Claric Energy, redistribute modified copies, remove or alter its authorship, or reverse-engineer it except where applicable mandatory law expressly permits that despite this clause. You may freely share the download link.

2. What Claric Energy is — and what it is not

Claric Energy reads a Revit model into zones and envelope surfaces, checks that reading for internal consistency, and exports it. That is the whole of what it claims to do.

• It is not a compliance check. Claric Energy makes no determination about whether a design satisfies any building code, energy standard, certification scheme, or regulation in any jurisdiction, and nothing it displays or exports may be presented as such a determination.
• It is not an energy simulation. It prepares input for analysis tools. It does not calculate energy demand or performance.
• It does not replace your review. Claric Energy reports what it could not do and where it disagreed with itself precisely because its output is meant to be checked, not trusted blindly. Values it could not read from the model — including thermal performance values — are exported as placeholders and identified as such.

3. Your responsibility

You remain solely responsible for the correctness of anything you submit, certify, publish, or rely on professionally, and for reviewing Claric Energy's output before you use it. Claric Energy can modify your Revit model when you ask it to fix something; each such action is a single Revit transaction that Ctrl+Z reverses, but keeping backups of your models is your responsibility.

4. No warranty

As permitted by applicable law

Claric Energy is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be error-free, that its checks will detect every defect in a model, or that it will run without interruption.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KephaLabs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use Claric Energy. Because Claric Energy is supplied free of charge, our aggregate liability for direct damages is limited to KRW 0 — or, where a jurisdiction does not permit that, to the minimum amount that jurisdiction allows.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.

6. Donations

You may support development voluntarily. A donation is a gift, not a purchase: it buys no feature, no licence upgrade, no service level, no priority support, and no warranty, because none of those are withheld from anyone in the first place. Donations are handled by a third-party payment provider under its own terms, and are generally non-refundable except where law requires otherwise.

7. Data

Claric Energy works on your computer. It transmits nothing unless you switch on diagnostic sharing or press “Something looks wrong”. What is and is not transmitted is set out in the Claric Energy Privacy Notice, which forms part of these terms.

8. Third-party software

Claric Energy is an add-in for Autodesk® Revit®, which you must license separately from Autodesk. KephaLabs is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Autodesk, Inc. Autodesk and Revit are trademarks of Autodesk, Inc. Exported gbXML follows the open gbXML schema; ECO2 export is provided for use with the Korean ECO2 program.

9. Availability and changes

Claric Energy is offered free and may be changed, suspended, or discontinued at any time. Copies already installed keep working; we are simply under no obligation to keep publishing updates or to keep the download or the reporting server online. If these terms change materially, the date at the top of this page changes, and continuing to use Claric Energy after that means you accept the new terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, with the Seoul Central District Court as the court of first instance, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally and to the protection of its rules — which these terms do not take away.
